Unbleached medium-weave cotton fabric makes this one of the most popular phenolic laminates. Strong and tough, with outstanding compressive strength and good machinability. Excellent wear and abrasion resistance with low coefficient of friction. Also stocked with graphite addition (Ryertex CG), reducing the need for lubricants.
Combines good tensile strength and high compressive strength with Class A electrical insulation values and low water absorption. Easy to machine. Medium weave, bleached cotton fabric.
Grade CG performs well in applications where oil or grease lubrication is maintained. The internally dispersed graphite aids lubrication and wearabllity compared to grade C. Ideal for pivot or king pin bearings in construction equipment and machinery. Ryertex grade CG is black in color.
Outstanding mechanical properties from medium weave fiberglass fabric and epoxy resin. Impressive 55000 psi tensile strength and 65000 psi compressive strength. Class B electrical insulation at temperatures to 325°F. Low water absorption.
A finer weave cotton fabric with 40% higher tensile strength than CE. Great for smaller electrical parts requiring more intricate machining. Class A Insulation with low moisture absoprtion.
JTR 726 is a laminated phenolic material that is manufactured using a combination of a paper based core and a woven glass fabric on both sides. This thermoset material has a smooth, glossy, resin-rich surface on both sides that machines or routes to a very fine finish.
Ryertex HD/M is a heavy duty phenolic with moly lube that consists of multiple plies of a 24oz/syd, heavy weight canvas saturated with phenolic resin and modified with molybdenum disulfide that provides internal lubrication to reduce friction, wear and heat generation. Molybdenum Disulfide is the lubricant of choice when electrical or static discharge is of concern since it is non-conductive. HD/M offers exceptional load bearing capacities equal to brass and bronze bearings. Like all phenolics, HD/M will not seize in bearing houses which reduces changeover times. Compared to thermoplastics, HD/M prvides superior load-bearing properties and has a coefficient of thermal expansion that more closely matches metal shafts for bearing applications. HD/M is often used for staves in water-cooled bearings
Ryertex HD/A is a heavy duty phenolic loaded with alumina that consists of mulitple plies of a 24oz/syd, heavy weight canvas saturated with phenolic resin and modified with alumina which adds hardness to the material. This material provides increased wear resistance and is ideally suited for heavy, industrial bearing applications. HDA offers improved load bearing capacities over HD/M and is equal to brass and bronze bearings. Like all phenolics, HD/A will not seize in bearing houses which reduces changeover times. Compared to thermoplastics, HD/A provides superior load-bearing properties and has a coefficient of thermal expansion that more closely matches metal shafts for bearing applications. HD/A is colored red for easy identification and inspection of bearing surfaces.
Ryertex X, XX, & XXX are high performance, paper grade phenolics that offer the lowest cost for most, general purpose applications.
Grade X Ryertex grades are some of the most widely used high performance, phenolics available on the market today. This thermosetting phenolic holds its strength throughout a 250°F safe-operating range. It doesn't soften with heat, and thermal expansion is minimal. Ryertex combines the tensile strength of nylon with unbeatable compressive strength. Layers of paper, saturated in phenolic resins, are fused under heat and pressure into one of the most durable phenolics. Ryertex has excellent wear and abrasion resistance with high mechanical properties.
High performance, paper impregnated with phenolic resin.
For mechanical applications requiring excellent strength and impact resistance.
